Gov. Oborevwori's DOP, Chief Onoriode, Emerges Most Dedicated Political Appointee of the Year


Chief Sunday Onoriode, the Delta State Director of Protocol, has been named the Most Dedicated Political Appointee of the Year at the 20th edition of the Delta Role Model Awards.

The prestigious annual event, which celebrates the achievements of outstanding Deltans across various fields, was held on Thursday at the Mariam Babangida Leisure Park in Asaba. 

Since its inception in 2005, the Delta Role Model Awards has been a key platform for recognizing individuals who have made remarkable contributions to the state, the society and in their various fields. 

The award for Most Dedicated Political Appointee was presented to Chief Onoriode by Prof. Okaba Benjamin Ogele, President of the Ijaw National Congress Worldwide, on behalf of the event organizers. 


Dr. Mamuyovwi Odia, who represented Chief Sunday Onoriode at the ceremony, expressed his gratitude to the organizers and the people of Delta State for the honour.

The award among others, was in recognition of Chief Onoriode's exceptional commitment, diplomacy and dedication in executing his responsibilities as the State Director of Protocol, as well as his various human capital development efforts and humanitarian initiatives.

In his acceptance speech, Dr. Odia, on behalf of Chief Onoriode, reaffirmed his commitment to continue serving the government and people of Delta State with the highest levels of integrity, dedication, commitment, patriotism, responsibility and excellence by the grace of God Almighty.

The State Director of Protocol dedicated the award to Deltans for their unwavering support to the administration of His Excellency RT. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori the Governor of Delta State.
